About the presentation:

In November 2021, a 10-year-old African-American girl with a diagnosis of an autism spectrum disorder who experienced bullying on a systemic level succumbed to injury from a suicide attempt.

This tragic loss highlights a drastic need in the community for psychologists, social workers, and all who could be considered mental/behavioral health specialists, to join forces with community partners to provide best practices for mental wellness and suicide prevention in culturally and clinically diverse populations.

Led by Dr. Kimberly Applewhite as discussant/facilitator, several additional UCEBT providers will contribute according to their expertise.
