Grief and Loss

Grieving is a natural response to loss, yet it can be deeply challenging. Our compassionate, evidence-based approach provides support in processing grief, honoring loss, and finding a path forward.

Our therapists recognize that each person’s experience of grief is unique. At UCEBT, we are dedicated to walking alongside you, providing understanding and support as you navigate your unique journey of healing and remembrance.

Common Symptoms

  • Intense sadness or longing for the deceased
  • Feelings of guilt, anger, or confusion
  • Difficulty functioning in daily life
  • Physical symptoms like fatigue or trouble sleeping

Treatment Approach

We use Grief Counseling, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients process grief, identify coping strategies, and restore a sense of purpose and resilience. Depending on other challenges that may be inhibiting the process of grief, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) or Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT) may also be a treatment approach to grief.
