About

Matthew Januzik, Psy.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist at UCEBT. Matthew has extensive experience in providing both assessment and therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and adults. He values helping people to better understand their life stories and unique experiences, as well as working with them to reshape their narratives and pursue their personal goals.

Matthew specializes in providing neurodevelopmental and psychodiagnostic assessments for individuals across the lifespan and for a wide range of concerns, including Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Intellectual Developmental Disorder (IDD), learning disorders, mood and anxiety, personality disorders, psychosis, obsessive and compulsive disorders, and trauma-related disorders. He uses a therapeutic, person-centered approach to testing to inform his patients about what they are experiencing, and provide a therapeutic experience that can lead to personal growth.

Matthew has also provided individual and group therapy services for many years. He seeks to meet each person’s unique needs in treatment by drawing on a range of therapeutic interventions. He has extensive experience in working with Serious and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI), and is committed to developing a safe and respectful environment where patients can learn and grow. In groups, he has experience providing children and adolescents with social skills training using interventions like UCLA’s Children’s Friendship Program and table-top role-playing games.

In his free time, Matthew enjoys spending time with his partner, friends, and family. He loves to cook and try new foods, explore local spots in the city, hike, and kayak. He is often in the middle of reading some long fantasy book, and loves playing board games. He has been running a Dungeons & Dragons campaign with his friends from graduate school for over 6 years.
