Training

The Utah Center for Evidence Based Treatment (UCEBT) offers exceptional training, supportive colleagues, and manageable caseloads in the beautiful state of Utah (home to FIVE incredible National Parks). UCEBT is a hybrid mental health setting that offers the flexibility and ease of a private practice with the benefits of a major medical center including didactic training, exceptional health care, PTO, paid holidays, hybrid work options, bonding events, and Costco membership, among other premium benefits.

Our Center is committed to fostering a diverse, vibrant, and responsive work environment. We adapt to support the individual and family needs of our staff, including flexible work schedules and opportunities for advancement. Employee happiness and work-life balance are regularly discussed in meetings and supported through our Center policies. UCEBT was voted "Best Mental Health Treatment Center" in 2022 for City Weekly's Best of Utah Mind & Body Edition and 2023 Best of State in two categories.

Our supervisors have expertise in child/adolescent, family, couples, and adult populations. Postdoctoral fellows are matched with a primary supervisor and 2-3 treatment teams based upon training goals and population of interest. We have four primary teams:

We also have a couple supplementary programs on which supervision can occur:

Postdocs are invited to apply for clinician positions upon completion of their fellowship. We plan to accept 1-3 postdoctoral fellows in 2023.

Our postdoctoral fellows will gain expertise with diverse and complex clinical cases within the supportive context of a team approach. Fellows will have the opportunity to see clients in the age range of their interest(s), including children, adolescents, and adults. Fellows will receive advanced training and ongoing supervision in evidence-based treatments (e.g. DBT, ACT, CBT, PE), participate in consultation teams, learn the business side of a growing practice, supervise doctoral students, and have protected time and funding to work toward licensure. Fellows will see clients on one primary and one or more secondary teams throughout their postdoc year.

Current teams accepting trainees are Anxiety and MoodDialectical Behavior Therapy, and Trauma, Stress, and Resilience. All teams provide opportunities for work with individuals across the lifespan, couples, and groups. Our Assessment and Testing team is currently full.

The Postdoctoral fellowship positions will be primarily clinical in nature, but will also include opportunities for research, program development, administrative tasks, or community outreach. Many of us hold appointments at and collaborate with the nearby University of Utah.

Stipend will range from $40,000-45,000 dependent upon licensure status. Our Center is committed to fostering a diverse, vibrant, and responsive work environment. We adapt to support the individual and family needs of our staff, including flexible work schedules and opportunities for advancement. Employee happiness and work-life balance are regularly discussed in meetings and supported through our center policies. Salt Lake City is a metropolitan hub of the West with access to national parks and abundant outdoor recreation activities, an ideal setting to balance intellectual and personal development.
