UCEBT currently offers the following group therapies where you can find support and learn new skills:

PEERS® Social Skills Group for Young Adults

Laura Rowley, Ph.D. leads this 16-week, evidence-based social skills group intervention to support interpersonal skills in friendships, workplace relationships, and romantic relationships. PEERS® has been empirically studied and shown effective in populations with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and other socio-emotional problems. $75/week. Virtual, in-person, or hybrid option.This group is closed for 2024, but is accepting applications for 2025. Learn more and sign up here.

Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT)

Taught by Dr. Katie Flanagan, Psy.D., RO-DBT is an evidence-based treatment targeting excessive self-control or overcontrol (OC), characterized by traits like perfectionism and emotional suppression, which can damage relationships and lead to isolation. Each RO-DBT class skills is 90 minutes and includes homework review, mindfulness exercises, in-class exercises, and new skills teaching. The skills class runs on Tuesday evenings, in-person (170 S 1000 E, SLC), from 5-6:30pm. It runs for 30 weeks, $75/week, but clients can commit to just a minimum of 4 weeks. If you have a client who might be interested, please have them complete this online screener (specify "RO-DBT skills class") for a free consultation with Dr. Flanagan to make sure they are a good fit.

Parent Training Group for Decreasing Children’s Disruptive Behaviors

Kandice Benallie, PhD offers a 6-week behavioral parent training group to support parents and caregivers in decreasing challenging and disruptive behaviors with their children and improving parent-child relationships. The group is offered virtually (or hybrid in downtown SLC, if interest is expressed) for 2-hour sessions. $75/week, plus $30 for participant manual ($480 total). Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills Group

In conjunction with our full DBT program, we offer weekly DBT day and evening groups for adolescents, families, and adults, including a group specific to addictions. While our other groups are often open to the public, our DBT groups are only open to existing clients within the full DBT program.
