Carl Sallee, Psy.D.

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Carl Sallee is a post-doctoral psychology resident who received his PsyD at George Fox University in Newberg, OR and his undergraduate degree in psychology and Global Development Studies at Seattle Pacific University.

Carl takes a very holistic and person-centered approach to therapy and assessment, considering every individual he meets as uniquely influenced by their intersecting cultural identities, social upbringing, biology, and life experiences. He enjoys working with individuals across the life-span. He has significant training and experience in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, a compassion-focused, mindfulness-based version of Cognitive Behavior Therapy developed as a way to help people overcome struggle with painful thoughts and feelings in order to whole-heartedly pursue a life based on their chosen values. He has a passion for de-stigmatizing the use of mental health services and using mental health care as a way to decrease societal gaps in power/privilege while continually examining his own privilege, biases, blind-spots, and cultural background to better serve folks experiencing marginalization or alienation.

He completed his doctoral internship at the Western Colorado VA Health Care System in Grand Junction Colorado, where he conducted evidence-based assessment and therapy for Veterans with PTSD, neuropsychological and personality assessment, outpatient addiction recovery assessment and therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy with folks who have borderline personality disorder.

Outside of work, Carl enjoys baking anything sourdough (especially pizza and focaccia), finding cool places to eat, doing anything outdoors (skiing, hiking, camping, kayaking, fly-fishing), playing with his dog, and spending quality time with his wife.
